Surrey Sensors Ltd. is very pleased to announce the release of its latest integrated digital probe system: our new MD24HP-series ‘Hydra’ rake. Featuring 24 channels of true-differential pressure measurement, ancillary sensors for fluid temperature, absolute pressure and humidity plus a six-axis IMU- together with all the data acquisition communications hardware on board – this rake system is one of the most powerful flow measurement tools on the planet.
“Although we had conceived and designed this system some time ago,” commented Dr. David Birch, Head of R&D at Surrey Sensors Ltd., “we had been waiting for the manufacturing technology to finally catch up to us. That day has finally arrived.” Machined from hardened stainless steel rather than 3D-printed, this rake offers higher strength and resilience than sintered alternatives. The ‘Hydra’ configuration shown here features three independent seven-hole probes, with the sensor body measuring only 20 mm in diameter by 200 mm long. The rake system can be configured for use with a variety of different sting attachments, including spherical omni-probes. “We have the expertise to custom-design stings to specific requirements,” Dr. Birch adds.
“This really is an achievement to be proud of,” said Dr. Paul Nathan, the lead systems designer. “We’ve combined our expertise in precision manufacturing, world-leading pressure measurement systems and the very latest in generalised data reduction techniques.”
The MD24HP-series ‘Hydra’ rake joins the fast-response FD7HP-series ‘Cobra’ probe in Surrey Sensors Ltd.’s growing portfolio of world leading measurement technologies.
The MD24HP-series rake system is available immediately. Sting and probe design services available on request. For more information, contact Surrey Sensors Ltd. sales and support.
